The tow-rings for Mk-7 Golfs are different from previous generations.
The MK-7 has right hand butress style threads.
The Mk-6 and earlier (I think, at least Mk-5) have left-hand Acme style
threads.
The tow eye lives in the tool kit with the jack. Since it lives
under the lug wrench and jack handle, it's not obvious where it goes.
